There's very little warehouse space in a BMW factory as parts come in from vendors or is built as needed to complete a vehicle. The body is built in-house and only based on orders.IOW, they don't have a lot of anything just sitting around waiting to be sold. Then, like we've seen on some of the available options, BMW has removed some, potentially for supply reasons, and potentially because they were not popular enough, so if a choice is in short supply, that could delay things. I for one, didn't want to order mine until I had driven one, and I don't think I'm alone. Dealers do want to have one on their lot for that customer that walks in, so may not be willing to give up all of their pends on their philosophy and finances. The X45e seems to be in high demand, so there may or may not be slots open all that soon.
